Prague Summer Nights is now accepting applications for all programs.The 2018 festival will be held from June 18 – July 16.


Live Auditions: Applications for live auditions will be continue to be accepted until the day of the audition, as space allows

Online Auditions: All online applications must be received by no later than  11:59PM, EST, FEBRUARY 20, 2018.

To audition online, fill out the application form, and submit a link to a YouTube video of your audition. Vocalists should submit an audition video with piano accompaniment; instrumentalists should audition without piano. You will receive an email confirming your application.


Tuition: $4,750 USD

Accommodation: $1,100 USD

Accommodation is for 28 nights based on double occupancy. This price includes 28 breakfasts.

Prague Summer Nights is open to students 18 and above.


Scholarships and financial aid for Prague Summer Nights are available and are determined on a case by case basis. If you wish to be considered for financial aid, please submit a letter to Festival Manager, Alexandra Plueckhan at stating your reason for financial assistance and a specific amount of aid you are seeking.


The Gail Melick and John Hart Scholarships for Instrumentalists of Prague Summer Nights

As part of the 2018 festival, Prague Summer Nights is pleased to announce the Gail Melick and John Hart scholarships for instrumentalists, given in honor of Gail Melick (long-time board member and supporter of Classical Movements and an active advocate for the advancement of the arts in Chicago) and John Hart (Chicago based philanthropist and trustee of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra). There will be two scholarships available, totaling $2,500 each, and they will be awarded to two deserving instrumentalists in addition to the normal scholarships granted by Classical Movements.

In connection with Gail and John’s commitment to community and outreach, these awards will be given to students who demonstrate a clear history of service and community engagement through their music and who wish to further this commitment as they continue their careers.

Students who wish to be considered for these awards must apply for admittance to Prague Summer Nights 2018. In addition, they will email Festival Manager, Alex Plueckhan (, a letter further describing their specific qualifications in the following areas:

  • Their performance background and education
  • Their past and current experience with outreach and community engagement through music and the arts
  • Future plans and projects to continue and expand upon their commitment in the areas of community and outreach

In addition, prospective students will send supporting materials including past programs, photography, and media that support the examples form their letter.

Students will be evaluated by the artistic staff of the Prague Summer Nights based on their audition materials and their ability to clearly demonstrate their commitment to service through music and the arts.
