Scholarships

PSN’s Gail Melick & John Hart
Instrumental Scholarships

In addition to the financial aid packages granted by Classical Movements each season, our fourth annual Prague Summer Nights: Young Artists Music Festival is pleased to announce two, brand-new scholarships specifically earmarked for instrumentalists.

Given in honor of Gail Melick, longtime Classical Movements board member and Chicago arts advocate, and John Hart, noted philanthropist and Chicago Symphony Orchestra trustee, PSN’s Melick and Hart scholarships total $2,500 each—awarded to two deserving string, wind, brass or percussion players.

Note: The 2018 PSN Melick & Hart Scholarships have been awarded.

Artistic Excellence

Based upon their audition and application materials, the two instrumentalists seeking PSN’s Melick & Hart Scholarships will be evaluated first by Prague Summer Nights’ artistic staff.

Connection to Service

As per Gail and John’s ongoing outreach, PSN’s two instrumental scholarships will be awarded to students demonstrating both a clear history of community engagement, as well as detailed plans for continued service.
