In addition to the financial aid packages granted by Classical Movements each season, our fourth annual Prague Summer Nights: Young Artists Music Festival is pleased to announce two, brand-new scholarships specifically earmarked for instrumentalists.
Given in honor of Gail Melick, longtime Classical Movements board member and Chicago arts advocate, and John Hart, noted philanthropist and Chicago Symphony Orchestra trustee, PSN’s Melick and Hart scholarships total $2,500 each—awarded to two deserving string, wind, brass or percussion players.
Note: The 2018 PSN Melick & Hart Scholarships have been awarded.
Based upon their audition and application materials, the two instrumentalists seeking PSN’s Melick & Hart Scholarships will be evaluated first by Prague Summer Nights’ artistic staff.
As per Gail and John’s ongoing outreach, PSN’s two instrumental scholarships will be awarded to students demonstrating both a clear history of community engagement, as well as detailed plans for continued service.
Individuals who wish to be considered for PSN’s Melick & Hart Instrumental Scholarships must apply for admittance into the Prague Summer Nights: Young Artists Musical Festival.
In addition, applicants must email Festival Manager Alex Plueckhan a formal letter further describing their specific qualifications in the following areas:
